These are the must-know for creating a new roleplay in the RPG Dreamers forum’s roleplaying section, if a RP Creator wishes for it to be approved by the roleplayers.
Dreamers Roleplay Creation (As of June 26, 2007)
if you want to create a roleplay, check if it meets the basic guidelines below. And then, post the OOC (Out of Character) topic in the sub-forum ‘RP Incubation forum’. Be warned that if the guidelines aren’t met or if it is obvious that the these set of rules were not read, the roleplay will be closed straight away.
Roleplayers are invited to check the roleplays out and join if they are interested.
For a normal roleplay where there are OOC topics, if there is a minimum of three acceptable profiles (not including that of the creator’s), then it will be moved to the main forum where the IC (In Character) topic can then be posted. Any second or third (or more) characters will not be counted. Co-creator’s character profile can now be included into the count.
For non-OOC freeform roleplays, the IC topic must have fifteen IC posts, not including the first one, so that there is enough to give the topic its second page (not counting any OOC posts), then will the topic be moved to the main forum.
If there is no activity in the roleplay (OOC topic when it is still in Incubation, both OOC and IC when in the main forum) for more than two weeks, the moderator may choose to close it, same as all the ongoing ones in the main forum.
The Roleplay Creation Rules
These are the basic minimum guidelines that have to be met by all new roleplays created, to ensure a certain level of quality among the roleplays. *EDITTED* This has been recently edited to refine it further and get rid of loopholes.
o1) Background Story must be at least one paragraph long. The entire first OOC post, excluding Character Template Sheet, must be longer than four paragraphs. A paragraph must have at least four reasonably long sentences (approximately fifteen words each), but the number of sentences can be judged flexibly if the sentences are long enough.
o2) The first IC post must be more than 1500 characters (approximately three paragraphs) minimum for a non-freeform roleplay, and 1000 characters (approximately two paragraphs) for freeform.
[A freeform roleplay is a roleplay where there usually aren't any set plot. Generally, it's more relaxed and easier for players to join at any time.]
o3) Character Template Sheet must be provided for all non-freeform roleplays.
o4) First OOC and IC posts must be checked for correct spelling and grammar usage. A few accidental ones are still alright while too many will be considered as a lack of effort on the roleplay creator’s part.
