-Were-Hunters (See Arcadians and Katagaria)-
1. Pyschic abilities: As with their Apollite cousins, Were-Hunters do possess strong Pyschic abilities. Over time, unlike with the Apollites, this has not weakened or been diluted by propogation. All Were-Hunters possess the abilities to switch between their animal and human states, and also are able to travel along the Rytis waves to different places in time (Though this is dependant on the Full Moon. Only an Aristos/Aristi can travel between time periods without the moon needing to be full.) Depending on the Were-Hunter and the partia these abilities can change. Were-Hunters do not have set abilities. It also depends on the strength of the Were-Hunter how these abilities manifest, and how effective they tend to be. Very strong Were-Hunter magic users can do things effortlessly, while the others have side effects…such as losing clothes between shifting and not being able to rematerialize said clothing when they shift back to human form.
2. Sunlight: Yes Were-Hunters can walk in the sunlight, the only exception is a Were-Hunter that has become a Dark-Hunter.
Were Dark-Hunters: This is very possible, but very rarely happens. In all the thoughts of Dark-Hunters there is only one Were Dark-Hunter, stationed in Paris, France currently. Once Dark-Hunters they are no longer considered Were-Hunters. They do however retain all the abilities they had when Were-Hunters, except the ability to travel through time. They are also bound by the same rules as a Dark-Hunter and cannot walk in sunlight.
3. Were-Hunter, Dark-Hunter Relationships: Both are very strong, dominant species. As it is they tend to avoid eachother outside of a social enviroment. In Sanctuary they do mix. Most DH/WH relationships are just like human relationships. They like or hate eachother just because. It is usually Arcadians that have the most luck interacting and forming friendships with Dark-Hunters. While Katagaria tend to avoid everyone but their own kind in general.
4. They have propagated since the original. Were-Hunters live several centuries, but they are not immortal. They will die after a time. But there are direct descendants, but only in the Lykos and Drakos partias.
5. Were-Hunters cannot become daimons. As they are not bound by the same curse as their Apollite cousins, they have no reason to steal human souls to extend their own lives.
6. How to kill a Were-Hunter: Stab anything enough and it’ll eventually bleed to death. Were-Hunters heal faster, and have a greater stamina for injury. But they do not have the abilities Dark-Hunters have to survive, and do not have a certain way they must be hurt in order to die. A strong enough electric shock will kill them, and that is the basis for many Arcadian and Katagaria weapons.
(Metriazo Collar: A thin silver collar that sends tiny ionic pulses into the body of a Were-Hunter to prevent him or her from using their magic. Whatever form they are in when they are collared, is the form they are stuck in until the collar is removed. The collar looks like a solid band of silver, and can only be removed with magic.)
Albel asked some very good questions. Hopefully they help everyone else as well.
For example : if a mere human or a squire punches a dark hunter or other supernatural being in the nose, would he be able to hurt it?
A:If a human or a Squire punches a Dark-Hunter it probably would not even faze them. If they punch hard enough they might get a little blood for the whole effort…most likely their own.
How high are dark hunters, daimons and such able to jump, and what height are they able to jump off not to get hurt when they land on the ground?
A: Maybe a little higher than say a normal human being….but not like Marvel comic superhero jumping lol. If they fall from high enough its possible to break bones, but they mostly heal within a night or two. I’d say 15 stories or so would push the bone shattering limit.
Do dark hunters and their squires MUST be in good relations? Meaning, can they insult each other (I know about sex restrictions and huting one another) I’m thinking verbally hurting. She mentioned that the squire is rewarded handsomly, and if that squire is someone who has no friends and such he would suit almost any dark hunter, so they would both profit, but may dislike each other.
A: Dark-Hunters and Squires do not have to be in good relations. There are a few Dark-Hunters and Squires that absolutely despise eachother…but they work together because they have to. Usually because a Squire has certain qualifications that a Dark-Hunter is looking for…such as speaking the native language of the Dark-Hunter. Most Dark-Hunters and their Squires however do get along.
Next, how does a human become a squire?
A: Humans become Squire usually through generations such as Blue blood squires…or by accident, in which they have the choice to become a Squire and protect the Dark-Hunter secrets, or be silenced. Dorean Squires are most likely Squires who lost a Dark-Hunter permanantly and decided to serve all instead of get close to one.
Do D’ dream-hunters appear in physical form in front of a new dark hunter or in their dreams? Do they teach them some skills or just lore?
A: All Dream-Hunters have physical form. Usually they appear as etheral men and women with black hair and very pale blue eyes. However Dream-Hunters can only feel emotions within dreams, so they often appear cold and unfeeling.
How does a human become a dark hunter when he dies (I know he needs to be killed in a manner which would exact retribution), but what of the process?
A: It is usually a human death, but one that is brutal (Crucifixtion, Beheading…slaughter by loved ones…etc.). The soul cries out as they die. Artemis hears this cry and comes to them while their souls are awaiting whatever reward or punishment they expect. She offers her bargain and if excepted she joins the body and soul together again….healing and reviving the body, adding the extra Dark-Hunter abilities. Lastly she extracts the soul back out, where appears the double bow and arrow brand that is here mark.
If a dark hunter kills another dark hunter or his squire or another human, do the “authorities” sense it or can the perpetrator hide his misdeed?
A: First Note…Whatever a Dark-Hunter does to another Dark-Hunter he will feel ten-fold. So as far as is known, no Dark-Hunter has ever managed to kill another and survive. As for Squires and Humans….Acheron immediately knows. Depending on the deed…the Dark-Hunter may or may not be executed.
As I understood, there are gods who have taken a human form and walk the earth. They are gods meaning extremely powerful. So why don’t they kill all those daimons with a swift thought instead of binding these souls to a body?
maybe a bit… stupid question
A: Gods and Goddesses are usually in it for themselves. They could care less about what happens to the humans, save perhaps for the ones who worship them outright. Also there are gods and goddesses on the both sides of the scale. Some that help the Dark-Hunters and some who help the Daimons. Lets just leave it to the fact that the gods don’t particularly give a crap.
Are the fangs of dark hunters retractable meaning to look like ordinary human’s, or are they always long?
A: Always long, but Dark-Hunters learn early how to hide them effectively.
How long can a dark hunter stay exposed to sunlight? Or is it instant death? If it’s not instant, what does start to happen to them?
A: Its instant, as it is for Daimons/Apollites.
There are dragons mentioned. How big are they, and if a human shapeshifts into a dragon, wouldn’t it be noticed? Presuming they are big.
A: the Drakos Partia, Dragons…usually stay in the place where they are actually common place. That would be medieval Europe. There is one living in the attic of Sanctuary…but He usually only sleeps there, and returns to Medieval France when he wishes to roam.
Atlantis is I suppose big. Wouldn’t it be detected by modern equipement, or is it hidden in some supernatural means?
A: Simple…the Gods and Goddess, especially the Greek one, keep it hidden. In Atlantis, is the means to release Apollymi, and since she would obliterate them all if she did, they make sure no one can find it. They will go as far to murder anyone who gets too close.
